HELMEPA's study on Marine Litter in the Mediterranean presented at IMO

At the recent 60th Session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) of the International Maritime Organization - IMO in London, HELMEPA, as member of the Greek Delegation, presented to the Plenary the findings of a study on marine litter in the water and coasts of the Mediterranean Sea. Member-vessels of HELMEPA transiting the Mediterranean Sea participated voluntarily in the research and reported the presence of bulky waste items on sea surface.
