The theme of International Conference on Shipbuilding and Conversion Technology 2008 will be trends, new concepts/technology, commerce surrounding the design, construction of new vessels and conversion of existing ones. The year 2007 witnessed an unprecedented number of conversions, from tankers to bulk carriers with an increased dry bulk earnings fuelled by demands from rapidly progressing regions. Global environment and safety concerns have brought about far greater regulations and more stringent enforcement. Currently the designers, the builders and the operators are forced to think of newer, more economical and eco-friendly alternatives.
ShipTek 2008 will explore the pivotal role of Technology and Commerce in meeting the interlocking challenges of the Ship Building and Conversion Technology Industry.
