2010 INTERMEPA Photography Competition

The International Marine Environment Protection AssociationINTERMEPA, announces the opening of the 2010 Photography Competition titled:

Our beautiful but fragile world”

The Competition is addressed to (i) seafarers and (ii) youth from the Associations-members of INTERMEPA in Australia, Cyprus, Greece, North America, Turkey, Ukraine and Uruguay.

In light of the forthcoming 60th session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee of IMO, to take place 22 - 26 March 2010 at the IMO HQs in London, HELMEPA, in its capacity as Technical Advisor to the Greek Delegation in the works of the Committee, submitted to the competent Division of the Ministry Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping a study on marine litter in the Mediterranean region.

Based upon suggestions of officers who assessed our last year's seminars, legislative developments at IMO, EU and USA, and data from Port State Control MOUs, as well as proposals of our member companies, we separated the contents of the 2010 Program in 5 different categories, each one covering a particular thematic area. The first 4 categories consist of two-day seminars, which shall be repeated 5 times within the year
